Follow the Evidence: Religion, the Workplace & the New Normal

Thursday, October 7, 2010 - 1:00 PM ET

According to the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, the public continues to exhibit "conflicted views" of Islam. An August 2010 poll of 1,003 adults indicates that 30% have a favorable opinion of Islam, which is down from 41% in July of 2005. While nearly one-third (32%) of those surveyed are unsure of how they feel about Islam -- an increase from 23% in the summer of 2005.

What are the workplace implications of this lack of understanding or potential Islamophobia?

The New Normal requires that people work with each other -- perhaps in ways they haven't done so before. Budgets are tight, time is tight; and there's a growing need to integrate everything -- communications, knowledge, programs, systems, and teams.

  • How well is your organization handling religion in the workplace -- in light of the New Normal?
  • How are your organization's efforts being perceived by employees, clients and other key stakeholders?

Join Colette Ellis and Tim Mulvaney for their FREE teleseminar on Thursday, October 7 at 1:00 PM, called: Follow the Evidence: Religion, the Workplace & the New Normal.

DATE: Thursday, October 7, 2010

TIME: 1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM CT, 11:00 AM MT, 10:00 AM PT)

LOCATION: Your office/conference room – dial-in number provided after registration

Learn how to follow the evidence -- that is, not what you THINK about diversity or religion, but what you can DEMONSTRATE or PROVE -- to create practical, inclusive solutions that work for your organization.

In this interactive teleseminar, they will apply the Evidence-Based Diversity approach to the topic of Religion in the Workplace. You and your core team members will learn how to:

  • Identify a core diversity issue -- based on facts NOT assumptions -- that impacts your organization, team or resource group
  • Develop a well-built question to help focus your efforts and resources
  • Find the best evidence and decide what's most relevant and applicable to your situation
  • Take action and measure your results - internally AND externally

This teleseminar is based on models and strategies Tim and Colette pioneered as Adjunct Professors at New York University, for their graduate-level course: Managing Diversity - An Evidence-Based Approach.
